The initials for my name,\u00a0<strong>SBH<\/strong>, also happen to be the acronym for <strong>Science Benefitting Humanity<\/strong>. This has been a focus for my endeavours throughout my personal and professional career as a medical and research professional.<\/p>\n<p>My university academic training spans a 16 year period and includes 4 post-secondary degrees:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>B.Sc. (Hons.)<\/strong> in Biology, University of Manitoba, 1949<\/li>\n<li><strong>M.Sc.<\/strong> in Biochemistry, University of Alberta, 1952<\/li>\n<li><strong>Ph.D.<\/strong> in Cytogenetics and Plant Pathology, University of Toronto, 1955<\/li>\n<li>Doctor of Medicine,\u00a0<strong>M.D.<\/strong>\u00a0University of Manitoba, 1960<\/li>\n<li>I also obtained a Certification in Family Practice (CCFP) from the College of Family Physicians of Canada.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These degrees served as excellent tools for the biological research I conducted, especially in cancer research. They also contributed to the novel approach I used in my medical practice &#8211; not only to <strong>improve the diagnosis and treatment<\/strong> of my patients, but more importantly as a tool to <strong>enhance their prognosis (benefit)<\/strong>. My novel approach to medical practice extended over 35 years.<\/p>\n<p>After retiring in the late 1990&#8217;s, I continued to promote and share my medical knowledge, especially in the fields of\u00a0<strong>healthy aging <\/strong>and<strong> life extension<\/strong>, through my blog on this site, my previous blog\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/docsamblog.blogspot.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">DocSam Blog<\/a> and my original website <a href=\"http:\/\/www.docsam.ca\/sbh-website\/Welcome.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Science Benefitting Humanity<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>I am continually interested in exploring how science can benefit humanity in the healthcare field by promoting healthy choices that can <em>&#8220;<strong>add years to your life and life to your years<\/strong>&#8220;<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Regards,<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Semeon B.
